This position is a key driver of data-driven strategy across Moderna’s global mRNA pipeline. Acting as a central analytics expert, you will transform complex clinical and operational data into actionable insights, enabling teams to make informed, high-impact decisions. The role focuses on portfolio-level visibility and process optimization, supporting the development and delivery of both vaccines and therapeutics.
As an individual contributor, you will work cross-functionally with scientific, operational, and program teams, playing a vital role in supporting the success of Moderna’s pipeline through advanced reporting, platform development, and strategic data analysis. This is a unique opportunity to shape critical decisions through data and get closer to the evolving frontier of Generative AI in biotech analytics.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Deliver advanced analytics and portfolio-level insights to drive decision-making across clinical studies, projects, and programs
- Develop and maintain scalable, automated dashboards and reporting infrastructure
- Analyze complex datasets, perform data mapping, and ensure data integrity across platforms
- Leverage cloud computing tools and project management systems (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project) to support operational planning
- Manage access controls and platform permissions while monitoring usage analytics
- Ensure accuracy and reliability in reporting logic, filters, and KPI metrics
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align on data needs and reporting expectations
- Use visualization tools such as Tableau Prep, Spotfire, or Shiny to translate data into intuitive visual outputs
- Support the organization’s data governance efforts through continuous optimization of data flows
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance data delivery processes
- Support Moderna’s digital strategy by aligning analytics with emerging technologies, including Generative AI
- Perform other duties as assigned

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in life and/or computer science disciplines
- 4+ years of experience in data or analytics roles, preferably within biopharma or consulting
- Proficiency in data wrangling, modeling, and pipeline design
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools
- Experience with project planning tools such as Smartsheet or MS Project
- Familiarity with reporting platforms and scalable dashboard creation
- Ability to manage complex databases and use cloud computing solutions
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

- Experience facilitating cross-functional workshops and high-impact projects

- Proficiency in maintaining documentation and planning tools like Smartsheet
- Experience using automation to enhance efficiency
- Adaptability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Familiarity with change management initiatives including training and communications
- Commitment to learning the scientific foundations of Moderna’s platform and biotech development
- Proactive, collaborative mindset aligned with Moderna’s mission
- Experience building models from Excel to advanced AI techniques
- Ability to code in Python, R, or SQL
