The Position
1. The TAL Mission

- The TAL deeply understands the needs of the external ecosystems, as also articulated by the PJPs and ensures rapid solutions that deliver sustainable outcomes, adapting existing solutions from around the globe or co-creating new solutions that leverage fluid resources and skills
- The Therapeutic Area Lead (TAL) is at the center of the new Roche organization. Their purpose is to enable the PJPs in their mission, to turn upside down the role we play in society – from mostly offering world-class medicines towards much more partnering, innovating and leading generative disruption. By doing so the TAL will ensure we deliver better outcomes for patients, their community, the ecosystem and the organization, faster.
- The role is based within Roche Ukraine affiliate, but works also in the network, quickly leveraging the whole of Roche knowledge and resources to deliver cross country solutions.
2. Responsibilities
The TAL is a key role in the affiliate, who works also within the Network. It is an empowered leader that is a key connector, broker and catalyst. Seeking and owning solutions that will have a direct and broad impact on the patient.
- Acts as trusted partner and is the primary (but non-exclusive) point of contact between stakeholders and Roche; the TAL shares the patient and stakeholder community needs internally, prioritizes and secures resources, and drives solutions that deliver outcomes faster.
- Ensuring great experiences whenever stakeholders in the ecosystem engage with Roche employees, products and services, with focus on national level customers. up to 40% (including up to 20% customer-facing activities)
- Translates customers needs into a clear vision and achievable outcomes (short, mid and long term)
- Ensure financial resources for the outcomes package. Adept at securing people and financial resources to support solution delivery.
- Accountable for ensuring work on outcomes packages will be done and delivered timely.
- Embodies the Network and Ecosystem Manifesto and holds others accountable. Ensures team rituals are implemented
- Ensure development of PJPs in squads, following practices of learning organization.
- Accountable for ensuring contribution to additional solutions that are needed for ecosystem development (eg HTA, PSP, other access solutions). Ensures others are able to find and implement impactful solutions faster.
- Supports the Ukrainian PJPs in setting the DA/TA or other relevant communication strategy and creation/adaptation of local Therapeutic Areas messages / materials / communication content for digital platforms in collaboration with Digital
- Provide support in localization and adaptation of a global strategy to a clear strategy on how to identify, leverage, scale, adapt or co-create solutions based on customer needs in Ukraine
- Maximization of the network through close collaboration with customers directly and via PJPs.
- Constantly builds a network proactively, including participating in cross country Disease Area Pods and / or building / participating in CoPs as well as connecting between DAs at a local level for system opportunities.
Collaboration
- This role will work in a self-managed team of peers who ensure that they hold each other accountable to effectively deliver solutions for the ecosystems.
- Collaborates closely with Ukrainian Public affairs, healthcare sustainability, and PAGs collaboration partner and other colleagues.

4. Experiences, Knowledge and Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
- Significant experience in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry in commercial, medical or access leadership roles, or multidisciplinary experience
- Significant healthcare customer-facing experience, preferably in more than one country and with strong local market understanding
- Proven effective, agile, fit-for-purpose leadership of cross-functional teams
- Experience in agile ways of working and methodologies
- Role model and ability to demonstrate Roche Values, Leadership, Commitments and Core Competencies
- Cultural and organizational agility, comfortable and track record of operating and influencing in all directions in a global network/matrix environment
- Able to understand and leverage digital means and tools is desired
Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of defined disease area(s), enabling engagement with PPOCs to understand needs.
- Solid understanding of Roche’s network to quickly explore and connect with existing solutions.
Other relevant capabilities:
- Fluent in Ukrainian and English to collaborate effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- University degree.
- Practical understanding of digital innovation methodologies
- Product Owner/Scrum Master and Coaching qualifications are desirable
