United Nations Development Program, Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD), Istanbul, Turkey (research intern)

Provided administrative, research, writing and editing support on issues related to impact investment, social enterprises, developing inclusive markets and the positive impact business can have in achieving the SDGs in Ukraine, which resulted in the detailed Impact Investing Ecosystem in Ukraine study ready for publishing. I participated in data collection and questionnaire analysis, desk research, case-study selection based upon the businesses adherence to best practices and desire to engage with SDGs, and provided essential support during video interviews with public and private sector actors (took detailed minutes of 26 one-hour long interviews, contributed to the questionnaire and data collection, timely integrated essential information into the report after interviews), spearheaded the market and policy analysis as well as drawing of the policy recommendations. The study has successfully passed peer-review and will be published in February – March 2021.

Supported private sector opportunity mapping and outreach efforts with attention to details and proven ability to work collaboratively and independently, effectively with minimum supervision and capacity to manage and synthesize big amounts of information. Drafted a grant proposal on impact investment ecosystem in Eastern Ukraine for UNDP IICPSD and UkraineInvest, tailored the methodology to suit the project and the region. The proposal was accepted and will be developed into a separate project financed by UNDP Ukraine country office.

Transparency International Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine (internship, translator)

Assisted in management of Facebook, blog, and media outreach content. Translated numerous anti-corruption related documents, articles, news items, and reports which were later published on the TI Ukraine website and provided to TI Ukraine sponsors, such as USAID, UNDP, Transparency International chapter in Brussels. Translated the official TI Ukraine documentation, the “Access to Information in European Capital Cities” research article. Number of words translated within the period – over 90,000.

As a more experienced certified translator, I also participated in the quality management, proofread and edited the work of other interns to ensure the accuracy of the translations presented to the donors and sponsors. The areas of translation covered the rule of law and judicial reform in Ukraine, good governance, civil society involvement, climate change, Ukraine’s plans regarding SDGs, corruption prevention efforts.

January 2018 – April 2018

TS Dental Group, Moscow, Russia (internship, translator)

I translated dentistry-related research papers and manuals from English into Russian, the TS Dental official documentation from Russian into English, proofread and edited draft papers, harmonized and standardized English and Russian medical and procurement terminology, actively contributed to glossary creation, and provided simultaneous translation to the senior management during business meetings. Number of words translated within the period – over 80,000.
