Overview:
The American Enterprise Institute, a leading nonprofit public policy research organization, seeks two full-time research assistants to work in our European and Russian Studies departments. One position will specialize in Russian studies and the other in European studies.
One position will be responsible for providing research, writing, and editing support to scholars regarding Russian foreign and domestic policies, with an emphasis on economics, politics, and US-Russian relations. The other position entails research support for issues related to the European Union, populism, and transatlantic relations. Both roles include developing and organizing conferences, panel discussions, and events; overseeing long-term projects; scheduling; and administrative support.
Both positions require excellent writing, communication, and research skills. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated interest in Russian or European studies and should be well organized and academically curious. Proficiency in Russian speaking, reading, and writing is required for applicants applying for the Russian studies position. Knowledge of STATA and other European languages is a plus, particularly for the position in European studies.
