Temporary COVID Vaccine Ambassador – Bilingual in Amharic/Tigrinya, Somali, Vietnamese, Marshallese, Spanish or Ukrainian/Russian
Closing Date: May 4th, 2021, or until filled
Scope
Neighborhood House partners with diverse individuals and families to build community and achieve their goals for health, education and self-sufficiency. We envision healthy, diverse and welcoming communities in King County, where all people thrive. Founded in 1906, Neighborhood House is one of the oldest social service agencies in the Puget Sound region. Today, we continue to provide these services to address the needs of entire family, with a focus on low-income community members, public housing residents, immigrants and refugees.
COVID-19 has disproportionately impacted communities of color and exacerbated the inequities borne by those who have the least access to resources and healthcare. To address these inequities and ensure equitable access to vaccines, vaccine ambassadors will provide ongoing outreach to communities impacted by COVID-19, with high emphasis in reaching out to Black, Brown, and Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC), immigrants, and refugees. Ambassadors will disseminate clear, consistent, and culturally responsive information about the vaccine and facilitate communication between the community, public health, and community service providers to remove barriers to access and help to ensure equity in vaccine distribution.
At Neighborhood House we have a deep commitment to our employee’s and client’s diverse experiences and backgrounds that guides our work for a more equitable future. We are seeking a team member that represents our dedication to service, equity and inclusion, to join our diverse team.
