Essential Duties
Conducts individualized tutorial sessions for students with academic deficiencies; determines what skill areas require additional assistance.
Designs and implements exercises and activities to facilitate student’s academic improvement.
Maintains all records required to document student’s attendance and monitors academic progress.
Determines student’s needs for assistance in other areas such as counseling and refers as necessary.
Schedules and conducts monthly conferences with student and professor explaining evaluation of the student’s progress.
Arranges or assists in arranging various special academic programs which are in addition to normal tutorial sessions.
Assists with tutorial program evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate field of assignment; OR four years of instructional or subject work experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of teaching techniques and academic programs.
Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to stimulate changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment
Ability to lead by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution’s sustainability programs
Tutor should be comfortable with the intricacies of Indonesian/Russian grammar as appropriate to their level
Previous tutoring experience preferred, but not required
Working Environment
Tutors will need to schedule their hours outside of CLI class meeting times (8:30am-12:30pm MST) and, as much as possible, not in conflict with co-curriculars (2-4pm MST) and Indonesian instructor office hours (TBA). Tutors will provide a list of their tutoring hours to Indonesian students, with Zoom link, via a GoogleDoc (or other scheduling app) and ask them to sign up (to have an idea of how many people to expect and to keep tutoring groups small, 1-3 people).
