City of Woodburn is looking for a Community Services Officer to join the Woodburn Police Department. Community Services Officers perform a variety of law enforcement, clerical, maintenance and other administrative support to the non-sworn functions and activities of the Police Department including providing information and assistance to the general public and answering citizen inquiries; violations of City code and ordinances, inspections, traffic control activities, animal control, fleet maintenance coordination and community relations.

The Woodburn Police Department traces its roots to 1889 when Amos Beach was sworn in as the first Town Marshall wearing a gold six pointed star, which had been made by his friends, for the purpose of protecting and serving the citizens of the newly formed community. Today, over 130 years later, the department remains committed to serving our friends in the community of Woodburn.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D., and, a minimum of two (2) years of experience in ordinance enforcement, or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Other Requirements:
Must pass criminal background check necessary to obtain Criminal Justice Information System clearance and Law Enforcement Data System certification within 30 days of hire. Clearance must be maintained throughout employment
Must pass the pre-employment drug test
Must pass the pre-employment background check
Valid Oregon class C driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual skills in Spanish/English or Russian/English
