TITLE: Anti-Bias/Anti-Hate Project (AB/AHP) Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
HOURS: Full-time Monday – Friday, exempt position
PAY RANGE: $47,840 – $56,160 (depending on experience)

JOB SUMMARY: CISC is a non-profit organization, founded in 1972, that supports immigrants and their families by
creating opportunities for them to succeed, while honoring their heritage. We provide youth, family, and senior services
including preschool, after-school, ESL/naturalization, in-home care case management, and healthcare navigation
programs. We serve Chinese, Russian, Latino, Vietnamese and other immigrant communities at our office locations and
numerous community-based sites throughout King County, Washington.
The Anti-Bias/Anti-Hate Program (AB/AHP) Coordinator coordinates all aspects of the AB/AHP, including program staff,
the internal advisory committee and external partners; coordinates onboarding and ongoing staff training on reporting
and outreach procedures and principles of trauma-informed care; gathers and updates mental health, legal, and other
resources for community members who have experienced hate/bias incidents; work towards meeting project goals;
coordinates outreach within and outside CISC; and takes reports of hate/bias incidents as needed.
The AB/AHP collects reports of hate/bias incidents from King County residents, offers culturally and linguistically
relevant support, resources and referrals to those who report incidents, compiles and presents incident data to educate
and inform the development of policies and programs to create safe and inclusive communities, and conducts program
outreach.
The AB/AHP program goals are:
1) Increase awareness through community outreach and education;
2) Increase reporting and collect data to advocate for policy changes; and
3) Provide information, resources, and support to individuals who experienced bias/hate incidents or crime
JOB DUTIES:
- Coordinate staff and oversee the internal committee, which is composed of dedicated CISC staff in other
programs, students and volunteers
- Provide outreach about the program to internal and external community partners, groups, and individuals
- Ensure that community members who would like to report incidents are connected with project staff who can
meet their language/cultural needs
- Ensure that incident data is collected, analyzed, and presented efficiently, responsibly, and respectfully
- Seek out opportunities to expand and foster partnerships to strengthen communities
- Update and expand the project’s internal lists of accessible, culturally-appropriate resources to refer survivors
- Attend and participate in agency staff meetings, in-service trainings, partnership meetings and performs other
duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Coordinate onboarding and ongoing staff training on reporting and outreach procedures, principles of trauma-
informed care, and other topics relevant to the work
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual program reports, both for internal and external uses
- Advocate for the responsible use of project data to inform policy and program changes that will promote safe,
inclusive communities
- Involved in participating and collaborating with community-based partners on the King County Coalition Against
Hate and Bias
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master degree in social work or related field OR bachelor’s degree with at least two (2) years of paid work
experience in social services. Substantial and proven work experience in social services may substitute for
academic qualification.
- Knowledge of community resources in the Seattle/King County area that will assist immigrant families.
- Understanding of oppression, racism, hate, and bias as systemic issues that have deep historical roots
impacting immigrants, communities of color and other marginalized communities with intersecting identities.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
- Able to fluently speak, read, and write English and Cantonese or Mandarin preferred.
- Competency in use of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Access/Publisher), the Internet for research and accessing
services, and other relevant tools for e-mail and data entry.
- Employee must have access to a vehicle and must have valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
