We’re seeking a creative, experienced and self-motivated Reversioning Producer to join our Riga team. You’ll support the Documentaries strand across social platforms, ensuring editorial values and social strategy are upheld. The role requires strong localization and project management skills, third-party coordination, and a deep understanding of social media engagement. Editorial awareness, fluency in Russian news, and comfort with social apps are essential to deliver high-quality, audience-focused content that drives traffic to BBC pages.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

BBC News Russian is one of the BBC’s largest language services, delivering trusted, impartial multimedia content across platforms and social media. With teams in London and Riga, we create original, innovative digital journalism for Russian-speaking audiences worldwide. Despite increasing restrictions and platform blocks in Russia, our work continues to reach millions. Join a team committed to editorial integrity, creative storytelling, and connecting with audiences in one of the most challenging media environments today.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Oversee localization workflows, including translation, proofreading, and quality control of long-form factual content, ensuring alignment with BBC Editorial Guidelines.
  • Manage relationships with third-party providers such as dubbing studios and distributors, coordinating production and delivery.
  • Create and schedule engaging social media content (especially for YouTube), promoting documentaries and driving audience interaction in line with BBC tone and style.
  • Collaborate across editorial and business teams on documentary selection, acquisition, and strategic planning, ensuring alignment with audience needs and industry trends.
  • Use analytics and digital insights to refine content strategies, stay current with platform developments, and contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking team culture.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Fully fluent in Russian and English, with strong editorial judgment and a solid grasp of BBC Editorial Guidelines and legal considerations.
  • Proven experience in digital and social media, especially on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, with an understanding of how audiences engage with factual content.
  • Strong visual and aesthetic awareness, with attention to detail; experience with editing tools such as Photoshop, Figma, or Final Cut is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of Russian and international news, with the ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced, 24-hour newsroom environment.
  • Analytical and creative mindset, able to interpret performance data, adapt strategies, and contribute to innovative storytelling across digital platforms.

If you can bring some of these skills and experience, along with transferable strengths, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.
