Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer (PHP) to take responsibility for designing, developing, and maintaining products that support Sage’s business plans and long-term objectives, using the identified architecture.

As a Senior Software Engineer (PHP) at Sage, you will work closely with product teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality software solutions, while providing guidance to more junior engineer to shape the technical direction of our products.

• Please note that this role is hybrid and will require you to work 3 days a week from our Cluj office. ***

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance software systems that align with current and future business needs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to more junior engineers, fostering best practices, innovation, and a high-performing team culture.
• Work with product managers, designers, and QA engineers to define requirements and deliver new features.
• Ensure code and architecture meet high standards for quality, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability, following best practices.
• Manage full software development lifecycle, from gathering requirements and designing solutions to testing and deployment.

Requirements

• Significant experience in PHP and familiarity with Oracle or similar databases.
• Strong expertise in OOP, design patterns, and managing large databases.
• Extensive experience in software engineering, with a focus on web applications.
• Knowledge of Snowflake and experience with tools like Copilot are a plus.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and version control systems, preferably Git.
• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with microservices architecture.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python (for scripting, automation, ML).
• Knowledge of Java (Spring, enterprise APIs, microservices).
