The Sales Desk Manager leads and develops the Sales Desk team responsible for timely and accurate creation and execution of customer contracts and work orders across assigned geographies and/or industries. This role ensures operational excellence against SLAs (initial response ≤ 24 hours), drives pipeline support and quality, and coordinates cross‑functionally with Services, Delivery, Legal, Finance, Operations and RMO to remove blockers and enable deal closure. This position does not carry a personal sales quota; success is measured by team operational KPIs, pipeline hygiene and stakeholder satisfaction.
A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
- Ensure the Sales Desk meets response and turnaround SLAs, monitoring queue health and routing assignments.
- Lead, coach and develop Sales Desk Representatives, run 1:1s, and manage hiring/onboarding and performance reviews.
- Manage escalations and support complex or high‑risk deals by coordinating Legal, Finance, Services Delivery and other stakeholders.
- Oversee creation and quality of bid packs and work orders, validating rates, margins and approvals prior to customer submission.
- Produce and present operational metrics and dashboards (response time, opportunities created/supported, error rates, pipeline progression).
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to reduce cycle time, rework and manual effort.
- Partner with Inside Sales and Demand Generation to align on opportunity routing, pipeline inputs and territory/coverage needs.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Business, Finance, Operations or related field.
- Experience in a Sales Desk, contract/work‑order administration, commercial operations, or inside sales support.
- Experience managing and developing a team (direct reports).
- Hands‑on experience with a CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and proven ability to create and manage CRM opportunities and opportunity hygiene.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with demonstrated cross‑functional collaboration (Legal, Finance, Services Delivery, Operations).
- Proven ability to manage operational KPIs and produce/report dashboards (Excel, Google Sheets, or BI tools).
- Excellent written and verbal communication, escalation management and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating bid packs and aligning pricing/margins with Services and Finance.
- Familiarity with global/regional contracting processes and compliance requirements.
- Experience with automation/workflow tools and BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.).
- Background in professional services or software services delivery.
