Project Description
An exciting opportunity has opened up within Technology for an application support analyst who can provide day-to-day support of the AMIS Warehouse system, which provides daily P&L, GL and other finance data for the BANK of London, including data for regulatory reporting (to BOE via Vermeg and HMRC)
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for Develoment work and Technical investigations across banking arm and securities business under a dual-hat arrangement. Under this arrangement, you will act and make decisions on behalf of both the bank and the securities business, subject to the same remit and level of authority, and irrespective of the entity which employs you.
• Work closely with the Regulatory Reporting team, Finance and Treasury to help answer adhoc queries
• Be comfortable with developing stored procedures using T-SQL
• Provide timely updates to stakeholders in terms of progress and status of issues
• Provide out of hours support when required
• Ensure that System SLA is met where possible, users kept informed when not
• Ensure that AMIS data is accurate and timely, business have no major issues and are fully supported
• Ensure the AMIS users are supported and production issues are solved in good time
• Ensure change is compliant with strict change control policies and system changes are subjected to rigorous testing
• Communicate with wider technology teams to ensure fixes or enhancements are executed in a controlled and co-ordinated manner
Skills
Must have
Functional / Technical Competencies (essential):
• Extensively worked with database systems on SQL Server and have deep expertise in this field
• A strong understanding of database languages including T-SQL
• Solid and demonstrable development experience with Stored Procedures, Functions,
Query Optimisation, Sql Agent
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Have been involved with project implementations with a solid understanding of the project life cycle and different implementation techniques
• Pay great attention to detail and be client driven with a focus on delivery and milestones
• Have exceptional communication skills, being able to converse with a wide variety of stakeholders including department heads
• Experience working with system delivering daily P&L
Work Experience (essential):
• Ability to work within a small, business focused team. Experience of working within an investment bank, any
• Finance/Banking business knowledge. Good debugging/ Hands-on approach
• Demonstrate experience and knowledge of report development and a proven background in delivering multiple mid
to high value Business Intelligence development projects ideally in a Financial Banking Sector.
• Experience working in Banking/Finance organisations
