- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in pre-law, political science, economics or business)
- 4-5 years experience in risk management, incident management, program management or 1-2 years experience as a paralegal
Amazon’s Bad Actor Disincentives (BAD) team works to ensure that bad actors cannot profit from using our services to abuse Customers, Selling Partners or our Store. In addition to obsessing over Customers, we specialize in obsessing over bad actors so that we can identify their pain points and compound them without impacting good Selling Partners.
We are looking for an experienced risk manager to own complex, high judgement decisions and escalations associated with our programs. You will conduct deep dive investigations and present your findings to legal and litigation teams. In this role you will help define strategic policy and translate its application across different legal and regulatory environments.
The ideal candidate for this role has a passion for investigating fraud and abuse and can make difficult decisions quickly. In addition to making the right decisions, the candidate will need to be able to use data and evidence to influence key stakeholders.
- Strong analytical or investigative background; bias toward making data-based decisions and comfortable with analysis
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to think both tactically and strategically
- Basic SQL capability, or ability to learn
- Excellent stakeholder management, including with senior leadership
- Proven high level of integrity and discretion to handle confidential information
- Experience with legal/regulatory environments
- Experience in investigating fraud, abuse, and eCrime
- Master’s or graduate degree (preferably in business or legal related field)
- 5-6 years experience in risk management, investigative or law/legal related field
- Strong Proficiency in SQL and Advanced Excel and other analytical tools
- Multilingual with preference for Chinese or Russian
