Position description
The Department of German & Russian at the University of California, Davis would like to recruit for a Unit 18 Lecturer for the 2021-2022 academic year. Primary duties are to teach a cross listed course GER/COM 11: Travel & the Modern World in fall 2021. Experience teaching literature and/or culture courses in a foreign language, Comparative Literature, or English department; native or near-native proficiency in English. Hold office hours each week. Assignment of classes, hours of instruction, and office hours are at the discretion of the department. Classes are held Monday-Friday, normally between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. PhD or ABD in German, Comparative Literature, or a related field, with an expertise in travel literature. Proficiency in German preferred. Salary is commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience.
Quarterly service and payroll dates:
Service quarter dates : September 20, 2021 – December 10, 2021
Payroll quarter dates : October 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021

Qualifications
