Organizational Setting
The Human Resources Division (CSH) develops, recommends and facilitates the implementation of human resources policies, procedures and services and advises management on appropriate measures and strategies to ensure that the Organization attracts, develops and retains a diverse, skilled and highly motivated workforce. CSH administers the Organization’s human resources management programmes, in particular in the areas of human resources policy development, position management, recruitment, mobility, training and social security. It supports the HR Units and staff throughout the Organization, in the SSC and the Regional Offices, to ensure that HR processes and programmes are delivered in a consistent, effective and efficient manner.
The global context in which FAO operates is rapidly changing and effective people management and communication skills are becoming more important than ever. FAO continues to focus on enhancing these skills through learning and development initiatives, including coaching services.
Reporting Lines
The Organizational Coach reports to the Human Resources Officer (CSHL)
Technical Focus
Preparation and delivery of virtual coaching sessions to FAO staff.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Provide coaching for FAO staff.
- Design, develop and deliver coaching sessions tailor-made to FAO staff members’ needs.
- Coaching sessions may be related to performance management, career development, leadership development and executive coaching or any other relevant area in organizational and individual development.
- Deliver a progress report at the end of the year.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
- University degree in Management, Leadership, Psychology, Human Resources, Social Sciences or related area.
- 5 years of relevant experience in coaching in an international environment and preferably within the UN System.
- Coaching Certification approved by ICF, EMCC, CCE or Accreditation by an international coaching certifying body e.g., ICF, EMCC, CCE.
- Working knowledge of at least one of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish.

Technical/Functional Skills
- Extent and relevance of experience in coaching for staff in an international environment, preferably within the UN System.
Selection Criteria
- Extent and relevance of experience in coaching in an international environment, preferably within the UN System.
- Extent and relevance of experience with tools including 360, MTBI, DISC or any other relevant assessment tools.
- Extent and relevance of experience delivering virtual coaching sessions.
- Familiarity with UN Competency Frameworks.
