North York Seniors Centre provides programs and services to promote the physical, emotional and social well being of adults 55+ living in our diverse community.
This position reports to the In-Home Services Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Provide personal care for clients in their homes
Provide light housekeeping for clients in their homes
Report client changes and complete the client progress reports
Qualifications/ Skills:
A graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker program with a school registered with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
Completion of a vulnerable sector screening 1 year or less
Up-to-date First Aid and CPR training
Fluent in English and other languages an asset (i.e. Russian, Polish, Chinese, Korean, Farsi)
Ability to work in both community and assisted living setting
Strong communication and written skills
One year of experience working as a personal support worker, an asset
Physically able to support clients during transfers from position to position
Valid driver license and car available; an asset
Participate in continuous quality improvement processes
Maintain a high standard of customer service that is client focused
