Non-Permanent Hourly 3 – Outreach and Welcome Center Specialist
DESCRIPTION:
Under the general direction of the Director of Outreach and Recruitment, this position provides assistance to the Director of Outreach and Recruitment and the Outreach and Recruitment Specialists. This position reports to the Director of Outreach and Recruitment. The Outreach and Welcome Center Specialist helps with tasks and initiatives designed to increase enrollment and promote college visibility in our service area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Staff the virtual welcome center, assist students with getting started at the college and help visitors and staff navigate the virtual space when in The Welcome Center
Represent the college at recruitment events both on and off campus (virtual and in-person): Fairs, presentations, tabling, etc.
Foster and maintain strong relationships with community partners
Collaborate with the Outreach Team and other internal campus stakeholders in outreach efforts
Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of campus recruitment-related events
Implement outreach programs for all students consistent with the college and program goals
Facilitate the admissions and entry process via our offsite entry program: Acing College
Maintain a tracking system to follow up with prospective students. Outreach report, CRM, texting, etc.
Respond to prospective student inquiries via email, phone, voice/video chat, website, etc.
Maintain thorough knowledge of college programs, processes and services in order to effectively guide prospective students
Host campus tours as needed
Assist in training and mentoring student workers as needed
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Outreach and Recruitment
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2 years experience in customer service, outreach, recruitment, marketing, sales or public/community relations
Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences and abilities
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience making presentations and/or videos
Experience using a Client Relations Management (CRM) system, Microsoft Office and Google Suite (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Chat, etc.)
Experience with web conferencing (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet)
Previous college outreach or recruitment experience
Bilingual skills are a plus, preferably in Korean, Vietnamese, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, or Arabic.

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Involves staying in a stationary position to a significant degree. Jobs are sedentary if moving is required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Work is performed at the EC campus and in a variety of local settings.
Positions in this class typically require: Operating a computer, communicating, observing, repetitive motions, and exerting between 10-30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to transport, install, remove or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
You must document citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire. You must not be enrolled in more than 5 credits at EDCC.
COMPENSATION:
The current part-time hourly pay rate is $15.00 – $19.00 per hour for up to 16 hours per week.

Work Schedule:
4-16 hours per week, this position is for the academic year with all campus holidays, closure days and quarter breaks off.
