Job Description:
Job duties and responsibilities of the Accountant II position within the College of Medicine include but are not limited to the following:
Monitor and perform professional level accounting duties and financial analysis for the operating departments within the College of Medicine including research projects.
Performs general ledger account reconciliation and analysis. Conduct special cost and budget studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations. Prepares, reviews, audits, and adjust accounting entries. Advise procurement staff on best practices related to funding and acquisition of goods and services.
Approves requisitions, credit card transactions for assigned purchasing card holders [Pcard] daily within Peoplesoft Financials. Review and approve purchase request and Foundation Authorization Request submitted by our procurement staff through our College Forms Management System [FMS].
Performs post award activity related to assigned projects by requesting personnel changes done where needed. Complete salary cost transfers and inter-department transfers timely to make sure projects are closed effectively.
Assist with the processing of payroll for our College Administration and Finance group on a rotation basis. Reconcile monthly bank statements for assigned Pcard holders and submit their statements to UCF Pcard Office.
Assist with the billing and collection services of student accounts using Peoplesoft Financials, and the WAWF to bill Health Professions Scholarship Program students. Cashiering responsibilities which include the deposits of checks and credit card settlement payments.
Assist with the training of new and existing procurement staff on UCF financial procedures, applications, and our college business process. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to include but not limited to require trainings by the University and our College.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Highly organized and detailed oriented.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
Works well under pressure and meet deadlines.
