The Administrative Director is responsible for the operational, financial, human and other resource management and strategic planning for multiple OB/GYN clinic sites. Clinical and administrative responsibility for ensuring the delivery of high quality, efficient and compliant patient care services that are aligned with UCSF Medical Center, UCSF School of Medicine, federal, state, local regulations and University Policies. Provides leadership, advice and counsel to supervisors, staff, and faculty. Collaborates with Ambulatory Services and the School of Medicine leadership to create the financial structure for the practice to include utilization of resources, oversight of billing and revenues, formulating operating and capital budgets and establishing internal controls and reviews. Evaluates financial performance for the practices and corrects deviations. Responsible for the ongoing operational support in the development and enhancement of existing and new clinical programs. Assists faculty leadership in business development and marketing related to clinical programs and long term strategy as well as short term tactical direction for the practice. Manages the practice’s recruitment, hiring, orientation, disciplining and staff development. Oversees resolution of human resources, labor relations, employee and department safety and risk management issues. The Administrative Director is responsible for the ongoing operational and revenue management of existing programs and the development of new clinical programs.
The GYN and Specialties Services Administrative Director is responsible for outpatient clinical practices at the Mount Zion campus, The Specialty GYN practices at Owens Street Campus and the satellite locations and the Berkeley Outpatient Center, the efforts of , 1 Operations Manager, 2. Practice Managers, 1 Nurse Manager in regard to patient access, patient safety and quality care delivery, compliance, revenue enhancement, colleague and patient engagement. In addition, this position will be leading the growth planning for all of General Gyn and Dysplasia practices across multiple sites including outreach services to East Bay, South Bay and other geographic locations as the Health system strategic initiatives require. This includes working with affiliates such as One Medical Group and others as they arise.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent combination of experience / training.
Previous management experience (minimuim of 5 years) in a complex, multi-faceted healthcare environment
Previous experience (5+ years) experience working with a physician/provider group practice managing through influence and collaboration.
Excellent skills in successfully managing clinic / center administration functions. Skills to develop strategic plans, create benchmarks, integrate systems and fiscal management.
Strong clinic / center management experience, with progressive expertise in practice management, scheduling, customer-service methods, incident reporting, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, information technology, and the policies, principles, best practices, and standards involved with effective clinic / center administration.
Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently. Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent and advanced communications skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely to all levels of staff, management, and outside agencies, with the ability to motivate, influence, and persuade others. Able to proactively communicate and articulate potential issues or problems; must be diplomatic, flexible, and understand and practice proper telephone etiquette.
Strong knowledge of relevant healthcare and clinic operations information technology, including billing systems and patient care workflows and processes.
Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.
Experience in areas of strategic planning, business development, financial management, program development, quality improvement and project management. Significant knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the healthcare industry.
Experience working with documentation in an Electronic Medical Record and billing systems.
This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field.
Clinical licensure as a provider or nurse in the state of California to practice in direct patient care.
Active CPR certification.
Experience with IRBs and research
Bilingual or multilingual capability (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian).
Knowledge and understanding of medical office support operations.
Experience supervising in a union environment.
