Principal Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Cook and Senior Center Director, assists in food preparation, service, and kitchen clean-up.

Responsibilities

Assists with food preparation, cooking, food service

Helps with the receiving, checking in, and proper storage of food and disposables on delivery days

Ability to read, prepare, and follow in English language lunch menu recipes Helps maintain security of food deliveries and food inventory

Labels all food/drink supplies in food closet, walk-in refrigerator, freezers with date of delivery/date cooked when needed

Cleaning kitchen and equipment

Assists Cook with the monthly inventory and maintaining order in the food storage areas

In the absence of the cook, assumes the responsibility for cooking and serving meals, taking temperatures, and filling out daily food use and temperature forms

Required to take the Food Protection Certificate course

Performs other required tasks as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
Cooking experience in a kosher kitchen preferred. Good physical health. Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time. Ability to speak, read, and write English helpful. Bilingual English and Russian is a plus.

Salary:
35,000 – 45,000
