Tesla Government Inc. (Tesla) seeks a Content Data Specialist who will help build and maintain a database of foreign influence efforts by adversarial nations. The position requires an ability to collect open source information from English and foreign language sources. Essential tasks include maintaining information quality and accuracy; data cleaning, standardization, and geolocation; documenting the process and work performed; and following guidance and instruction from the supervisor. Position will also occasionally be asked to provide other research, writing, and data-cleaning support.
Periodic in-office work may be expected, but the majority of your time will be remote. Physical office space is in the Falls Church, Virginia area, Metro accessible on the Orange Line (East Falls Church Metro). DC area or Tampa area applicants will be considered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (proportional breakdowns of responsibilities fluctuate):

Data Collection (60%)

*

Seek out credible publicly available sources

*

Maintain data quality and accuracy

*

Ensure data integrity

*

Perform and document procedures for data preparation, including data cleaning, standardization, and geolocation

*

Work as part of a team to deliver top-quality data that is communicated to customers as graphics and maps and in other forms

*

Data and Content Standardization and Processing (20%)

*

Implement changes to data and content, ensuring consistency and adherence to established standards

*

Manage extensive compilations of reports to enable users to readily discover information

*

Automation Support (10%)

*

Develop knowledge and experience with Python

*

Develop custom scripts to automate data extraction and cleaning

*

Research & Writing (10%)

*

Respond to user information needs by developing reports from open source research and official reporting

*

Continuously review and revamp previously composed reports so that they maintain applicability and are of premium quality.

Be technically savvy and have the ability and willingness to learn various computer and web-based applications

Required Qualifications:

*

Study or work experience in international affairs or military/federal government experience

*

US Citizen eligible for a security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

*

Foreign language skills, especially Russian, Chinese, Arabic, or Persian.

*

Python scripting skills
