EMPLOYMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Deputy Chief of Compliance, Integrity and Operations – Investigations Division, New York City
The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Chief
of Compliance, Integrity and Operations. Candidates should be hard working, motivated and committed
to public service on behalf of the people of the State of New York.
The Investigations Division includes: Major Investigation Unit, Organized Crime Task Force, Medicaid
Fraud Control Unit, Auto Insurance Fraud Unit, Executive Protection Unit, Special Operations Unit, Office
of Special Investigation, Sexual Offender Management Bureau and Civil Investigations Unit.
Duties performed by the Deputy Chief may include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure compliance with new Criminal Justice Reforms which went in effect on 01/01/2020.
- Ensure historical practices align with newly promulgated policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with division objectives to support diversity and inclusion.
- Liaise with the agency Diversity and Inclusion Office and Equal Employment Opportunity Officer.
- Ensure compliance with all agency mandates, directives and orders.
- Establish professional conduct standards as appropriate for a large police agency.
- Assess and evaluate compliance with professional conduct standards.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders on all division proposed policies and procedures.
- Oversee Quality Control and Integrity Control standards for the division.
Minimum qualifications:
- Must have at least ten (10) years of law enforcement supervisory experience with at least eight (8)
years of executive management experience at the rank of at least Captain (or equivalent) in a law
enforcement agency of at least 125 sworn staff
- Must have current NYS basic police academy certification approved by DCJS.
- Must have extensive experience in drafting compliance and quality control policies in a large police
agency.
- Must have extensive experience in developing procedures to ensure adherence to said policies.
- Must have extensive experience as a senior level Internal Affairs police agency supervisor
- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited university is required.
- Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license with ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- The NYS Public Officer’s Law requires that all police officers be citizens of the United States of
America and reside within the State of New York at the time of appointment.

Preferred qualifications, skills and education:
- Superior interpersonal communication and strong writing skills are strongly preferred.
- Experience with designing internal agency controls for compliance at a large-scale policing
organization and auditing of same.
- Experience auditing compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Proficiency with computers, common word processing applications, use of search engines,
investigative databases and internet research is preferred.
- The ability to read, write, speak and understand a second language in addition to English
(e.g. Spanish, Mandarin, Russian, Korean, etc.) is preferred.
- Law degree and license to practice law in New York State is strongly preferred.
Performance of the duties may require frequent, unscheduled work on evenings and weekends and
requires 24/7 availability. This position is in the exempt class, and incumbents serve at the pleasure of the
Attorney General. The Hire Rate for this position is $130,170 (plus location pay of $3,026).
