US based hedge fund is a quantitative asset management firm currently has over 600 employees spread across more than 25 offices in 15 countries. Fund develops and deploys systematic financial strategies across a variety of asset classes in global markets, utilising a proprietary research platform and risk management process. We seek to produce high-quality trading signals through our proprietary research platform to employ trading strategies focused on exploiting market inefficiencies. Our teams work collaboratively to drive the production of trading algorithm and financial strategies – the foundation of a sustainable, global trading platform. Technologists research, design, code, test and deploy projects while working collaboratively with researchers and portfolio managers. Our environment is relaxed yet intellectually intense. Responsibilities

Project: Alpha/Meta generation – Distributed platform to run financial model simulations at large scale
The Role: As an Engineer within the Alphagen team, you will work closely with other technologists, researchers and portfolio managers, monitoring, developing systems and automation tools to support our Alpha/Metagen production systems. The role also requires rotating on-call coverage and significant effort for problem solving and internal client support.
• Monitoring and supporting our software infrastructure and model production system; Investigating and troubleshooting issues
• Developing/Debugging software systems in Python, Java
• Working with tools and technologies such as MySQL, Jenkins, Airflow, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab
• Assembling platforms and frameworks to automate business processes
• Collaborating with internal technology, research and portfolio management teams
Skills
Must have
-
• Demonstrated experience using Python programming language
• Experience with SQL query
• Being able to work in Linux environment; knowing basic Linux command line and bash scripting
• Great support attitude (our job is to make life easier for other teams)
• Familiarity with version control system (Git) is a plus
• Strong debugging, problem solving skills with a go-getter attitude
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; Fluency in the English language
• Ability to self-organize and prioritise work
• Effectiveness in working both independently and in a team setting
