Peregrine is in search of a Digital Research Analyst to work remotely in the preferred area of Washington, DC.
Summary:
The Digital Research Analyst is responsible for understanding a variety of topical issues related to Ukraine that are being discussed online. This includes summarizing key themes of conversations, exploring how online networks operate in relation to specific issues, and identifying key influencers driving conversations. In order to fully explore the issues, the Analyst will also conduct desk research prior to data collection to develop an understanding of the issue in question. Responsibilities include desk research, data collection, data analysis, and report writing. This position is suitable for those with experience in conducting digital research, either manually or using commercially-available tools.
Essential Job Functions:
Conduct desk research across a range of issues important to our clients
Perform research to identify audiences, amplifiers, and information ecosystems relevant to specific issues
Monitor publicly available data across social platforms and the web
Quantify the scale and impact of conversations around particular topics
Track the evolution of narratives over time
Translate insights into clear and concise reports
Produce well-written client-facing reports
Distilling academic or journalistic reports into actionable and concise desk research findings
Using commercially available tools such as Pulsar to conduct social media listening
Analyzing share of conversation on Twitter
Supporting the creation and implementation of new research methodologies
Performing sentiment analysis on online comments
Tracking stories produced by local and regional media
Identifying and understanding the impact of disinformation campaigns sing digital metrics and analytics tools
Writing reports
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

- Confidence working under pressure
Minimum Qualifications:
2 or more years of related experience
Ukrainian and Russian language fluency
English language skills (including written)
Experience in data analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in international relations, journalism, fact-checking, or disinformation
- Experience in digital analytics (Facebook Insights, CrowdTangle, NewsWhip, Tubular Labs)
- Social media listening (e.g. using Pulsar, Brandwatch or similar)
- Influencer identification
- Qualitative or quantitative research experience
- Pass an employer background check
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid client service, time management, and written and verbal communication skills
