The Education & Training Coordinator is responsible for supporting the training and skill-building of grant-partner staff (i.e; teachers and other applicable school personnel) to be equipped to effectively deliver youth sexual health programming. The Education & Training Coordinator provides coordination and support for various trainings; one-on-one teacher skill-building and technical assistance; and providing effective program delivery. Will work with Training Specialist to become proficient in effective training development and delivery. During times when schools are out of session, the Education & Training Coordinator will respond to community education and outreach needs within Multnomah County.
The Education & Training Coordinator supports, promotes, and adheres to the mission, values and service standards of Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW). PPCW provides sexual and reproductive health education to diverse communities, while maintaining an environment of dignity, trust and respect.

Schedule: Full time, Monday – Friday (Weekend and evening work times may be required for this position.)
Position Details: This is a union represented, hourly (non exempt) position. This is a grant-funded position. This position is available for yearly renewal through 2023, contingent upon the availability of federal funds. This position is currently working remotely.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bilingual Spanish, Russian or Vietnamese preferred.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, health, sexuality, social justice or related field.
- One (1) year of field experience, with at least six (6) months of full time student teaching in a middle level or high school
- One (1) year full-time equivalent experience working within diverse populations, specifically Black/African American, Indigenous/Native American, and Latinx communities experiencing high levels of health inequities, preferably within a low-income school or community based organization
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in health education, human services or related field
- Two (2) years’ experience educating middle and/or high school aged youth in a classroom like setting, which includes leading groups of 25+ youth
- One (1) year full-time equivalent experience working within diverse populations, specifically Black/African American, Indigenous/Native American, and Latinx communities experiencing high levels of health inequities, preferably within a low-income school or community-based organization
OR
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four (4) years’ experience educating middle and/or high school aged youth in a classroom like setting, which includes leading groups of 25+ youth
- One (1) year full-time equivalent experience working within diverse populations, specifically Black/African American, Indigenous/Native American, and Latinx communities experiencing high levels of health inequities, preferably within a low-income school or community based organization
OR
- Any similar combination of education and relevant experience that qualifies the individual to perform the essential functions of the job may substitute for the above.
Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience in the following areas:
- Preparing and delivering programs to diverse communities, specifically Black/African American, Indigenous/Native American, and Latinx communities in a culturally responsive manner.
- Building and maintaining effective partnerships and collaborative interpersonal relationships within the organization and with external organizations and stakeholders.
- Program design, presentation and communication (verbal and written), which includes public speaking to groups and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to track and document program implementation for the purposes of generating reports.
- Technology skills required: Microsoft Office programs, including Power Point, Excel and Word. Ability to learn database management software, and Adobe Captivate or other eLearning and webinar software.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, have access to a reliable automobile, and maintain proof of personal automobile liability insurance, at a minimum, in the amount required by Oregon law (ORS Chapter 806).

Our administrative office is currently closed and admin employees are working remotely for the foreseeable future. When schools resume in-person instruction this position will travel to local schools in Multnomah County.
