Come join the geoprocessing and spatial analysis development team, where you will utilize your GIS knowledge and experience or interest in building software that is used around the world and translated into more than 20 languages! You will design, test, and document geoprocessing and spatial analysis functionality from the perspective of internationalization (I18n) and localization (L10n), ensuring that the software we build is suitable and user-friendly for an international audience.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn and understand I18n/L10n software development patterns and practices, and collaborate with teammates across many teams that build geoprocessing tools and spatial analysis functionality for ArcGIS Pro. In this role you will drive, implement, and document software localizability and support and educate others to do the same.
Responsibilities:
Design, test, document, and support ArcGIS software to enhance overall product quality and usability by an international audience
Assist with publishing localized files via a content management system for documentation
Develop and run automated procedures and scripts that produce the content that is the backbone of the geoprocessing system
Assist the team with troubleshooting and research revolving around following best practices for I18n and L10n
Develop skills in troubleshooting for localization, which will include developing a deep understanding of OS region and locale settings, and the use of ArcGIS Pro software language packs
Triage I18n/L10n issues reported by our user community and international distributors, communicating these problems to our development team.
Create and execute both manual and automated test plan
Document new functionality and processes
Requirements:
1+ years of Python experience
Training with an ArcGIS Desktop/ArcGIS Pro product
Experience or interest in applying GIS to solving real-world problems
Ability to think critically about new functionality and user requirements

Bachelor’s in GIS, computer science, geography, or related field, depending on position level
Recommended Qualifications:
A high level of understanding of ArcGIS products
Demonstrated knowledge of the localization process and lifecycle
Passion for global solutions, international customers, and teamwork
Experience with localization workflow customization and implementation
Fluency in one or more languages of translation for ArcGIS products (Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, etc.)
Experience scripting or automating repetitive and mundane tasks
Understanding of XML/HTML/JSON formats
