Position Summary: This is a Seasonal position that works in both the vineyard (morning) and Cellar (afternoon). See description for both portions of the position.
SUGAR SAMPLING (MORNING)
Collects grape berry and cluster samples from various vineyards for the purpose of measuring sugar (degrees brix) and delivers those samples to wine laboratories for analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES:
Collecting grape samples from a large variety of vineyards in Napa and Sonoma counties
Delivering samples to the local winery lab for analysis in a timely manner
Recording and reporting results of lab analysis to Grower Relations Representative
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Previous sampling a plus as well as map reading abilities and local geographical knowledge
Must have own vehicle, a Driver’s License, and clean DMV record
Good communication skills
Organizational skills
This position requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, climb, stoop and kneel, and be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds
This position is an agricultural job that requires walking in uneven terrain and exposure to the elements
Must be willing to work flexible hours and must be willing to work the entire harvest season
Must be able to pass a physical, pre-employment drug examination and show proof of eligibility to work in the United States
CELLAR (AFTERNOON):

More recently, we added Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris to the portfolio making La Crema winery a great place to learn the fundamentals of winemaking. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
Cleaning, sanitizing, and sterilizing winery equipment and facilities.
Making chemical and nutrient additions to juice and wine.
Following and observing all safe cellar practices.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, climb, stoop and kneel, and be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds
the ability to communicate effectively with good skills in reading, writing and basic math are required.
Must be able to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and procedures, and be able to read cellar work orders, count barrels, record times and dates.
Individuals selected for this position must be reliable, punctual and have a good work ethic.
