Home Delivery Coordinator

Meals on Wheels People is seeking a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude, excellent organizational skills and social services background to join our Operations team in the role of Home Delivery Coordinator.

General Summary
Provide efficient operation of the Meals on Wheels Home Delivery services including: Preparation of meals, training and scheduling of volunteers, oversight of packing, pick-up and delivery, client re-assessments and maintenance of accurate records for MOW clients and volunteers. Provide general office support, kitchen assistance, corporate outreach and community engagement as needed.

Hours: Mon-Thurs, 36hrs/wk
Pay Range: $15.25 – $18 per hour
Location: Elm Court

Program Coordinator Skills, Abilities & Experience:

· Proven experience to effectively manage, engage and retain volunteers

· Bilingual/Bicultural English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Asian or African languages strongly preferred

· Excellent organizational, record keeping, time management and multi-tasking skills including the ability to set priorities and be flexible to last-minute changes

· Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with diverse populations including minority, low income and persons with disabilities

· Strong ability to problem solve and implement solutions

· Ability to repetitively move 25lbs; routinely moves cooler and cooler bags from one location to another and from various heights in preparation of and for the completion of meal delivery; ability to ascend stairs and move around on city sidewalks

· Proficient in computer applications and MS Office including, Outlook, Word and Excel

· Ability to quickly learn new computer programs; experience with client data management systems a plus

Any satisfactory combination of experience, training and/or education which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above qualifications.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

· Fast paced, with significant people interaction

· Travel throughout Portland Metro area required to perform job duties

· Ability to climb stairs and move about on city streets

· May be required to lift up to 50lb.

· Frequent reaching, bending, stooping and lifting up to 20lbs.

· Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, 10 key and phone

· Must successfully pass pre-employment screening
