Interpreter Contractor – On Demand Interpreter

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking independent contractors for On-Demand Interpreters to take calls remotely. Interpreter
will be signed in the hours they wish to work, take calls that come through immediately, screening the caller for
billing information, ask caller if they need a dial out, connect to another party if needed then interpret for caller.
On-Demand interpreters will interpret calls in the medical, legal and education field with sensitive topics. We are
looking for the right candidate in the US only. In performing the services, the person/company would be engaged
as an independent contractor, and it is understood and agreed that the contractor, not IRCO, will be responsible
for any federal and state taxes applicable to this payment. It is further understood that, as an independent
contractor, individuals will not be eligible for the benefits of Federal Social Security or Worker’s Compensation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Interpreter must, at a minimum, be able to demonstrate the following standards:
Minimum:

• 6 months of interpreting experience for the given specific language

• Proof of language proficiency

• Evidence that all individuals are free and clear of a criminal history

• Live in the Oregon area but out of state are eligible as well because of the remote work. US ONLY

Preferred:

• Must be able to fill out W9 Form

• Evidence of heath care or legal interpreting training, certification or expertise
