  • Completion of the proposed separation of Kidney Care from Baxter into a standalone company (to be named Vantive) remains subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions.

The Product Owner (PO) is responsible for defining and supporting the building of valuable, feasible, viable, and usable products that meet customer needs over lifecycle of the product. The PO will define the product roadmap for the assigned products. The PO works directly with customers and Product Managers (PMs) to understand and communicate their needs. The PO will also closely with Business Relationship Managers (BRMs), other IT partners and SMEs from different areas to define how technology can enable business processes, drive business value and important metric improvement. 

Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for to setting plans and goals for their product and for their teams, constantly communicating and building consensus to meet the established outcomes, with PMs and BRMs. 
  • Responsible for planning how the product will be implemented to increase the value of the product. 
  • Accountable and sometimes responsible for prototypes, flow diagrams, use case documents, story maps, and mockups to help visualize and describe the feature of the product. 
  • Identify potential technology options and complete IT cost assessments with support for IT architecture resources as needed. 
  • Define features and continuously force prioritization with the PM to identify the right initiatives to focus on and add to the product roadmap to ensure there is a constant flow of value creation. 
  • Accountable for the delivery of features as prioritized by the PM with constant advisement on value versus effort and fit to the roadmap. 
  • Play a lead role in process governance with the goal to harmonize processes and the underlying system solution whenever possible. 
  • Innovate through research and prototyping and drive the development and adoption of next generation technologies and business practices. 
  • Work with the technical architects and engineers to define technical solutions and enablers in line with functional and non-functional requirements and the process flows defined. 
  • Integrate upcoming enabler work such as architecture, data privacy, security, regulatory and compliance into the backlog with the PM. 
  • Works with the team to agree on accepted story completion. 
  • Leverage survey results, interviews with users and data/analytics and insights to continuously improve and scale their products and employ product strategies. 
  • Be a constant change champion for new ways of working. 
  • Participate in team demos and retrospectives. 
  • Report progress and status in terms of business and customer outcomes. 
  • Support internal organisational change teams and external marketing teams to drive adoption and deliver products to market. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with greater than 5 years of proven experience in digital/technical product ownership. 
  • Prior experience with commercial products such as customer relationship management, marketing, quoting/contracting and pricing. 
  • Established commercial business insight. 
  • Technical competence. to convey and collaborate around the development of the desired functionality particularly with cloud applications. 
  • Prior experience or ability to learn technical development architecture and configuration principles. 
  • Strong understanding and working experience with Agile approach and culture. 
  • Understanding the SAFe (Agile at scale) approach is a plus. 
  • Skills in prototyping and rapid ideation/discovery. 
  • Ability to work with multiple geographies in a multicultural environment. 
  • Ability and maturity to manage senior level team members globally. 
  • Experience in working in regulated environments (i.e. privacy/compliance) 
  • Design thinking awareness and prior usage strongly preferred.
