Site Reliability Engineer – 3rd Line Support
Location: Poland
Work Model: Hybrid (1 day a week in the office at any Cognizant location)
We’re expanding our engineering teams to support a strategic initiative in the financial domain. As a global tech partner with over 30 years of experience, we help leading organizations modernize their tech stacks and deliver outstanding digital experiences.
About the Role
We’re looking for a talented and driven Engineer who will provide Level 3 production support for critical applications (e.g., payment or transaction systems). Combines strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with deep system knowledge, ensuring quick recovery from incidents and high service availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver L3 24/7 support and participate in on-call rotation
- Conduct deep-dive troubleshooting across apps, databases, VMs, and networks.
- Analyze logs and metrics using Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Support and monitor Kafka, Cassandra, and related messaging systems.
- Collaborate with development teams to debug, test, and release fixes
- Provide architectural guidance to improve performance, cost, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot multi-tier Java/J2EE applications (Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, MQ, Web Services).
- Work on Unix/Linux/Windows environments.
- Conduct RCA, bug fixing, and cross-team coordination during production issues.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of experience in production support or SRE.
- Expert in incident management and problem resolution.
- Proficient with observability tools and scripting (Python/Bash).
- Familiar with Java-based enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services (banking, payments)
- Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments
