Lifeguards / Instructors (Seasonal)

Location: Blackfalds
The Town of Blackfalds is accepting applications for Seasonal Life Guards and Instructors to work at the Outdoor Aquatic Centre.
Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of the guests of the Aquatic Centre. They also provide positive guest service and educate guests about aquatic rules and procedures, providing first aid when necessary, and completing administrative and maintenance duties related to the position.
Swim Instructors are responsible for providing swimming instruction and evaluations for all levels of the Red Cross Swim Program. They are also responsible for the safety supervision of guests participating in aquatic instruction and for all applicable administration.

Solid planning, organizing and problem-solving skills
Provide mentorship and guidance for volunteers
Lifeguarding – Maintain a safe aquatic setting, removing all hazards to public and staff
Maintain a safe aquatic setting, removing all hazards to public and staff.Help evaluate guard positions & rotations.
Lifeguard as required.
Provide first aid as required.
Swim Instruction – Instruct as required.
Complete all administrative work as required.
Additional Requirements:
National Lifeguard – Pool, 16 years of age
Red Cross Water Safety Instructor – 15 years of age
Standard First Aid with CPR “C” and AED (Aquatic Emergency Care with CPR C and AED, preferred)
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with current Driver’s Abstract
RCMP Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check / Intervention Record Check
The hours of work range from part time to full time hours
The starting hourly wage is $18.26 / hour
