Our client is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to assist in the study, execution, and construction of mineral processing plants in the mining and metals industry. This role reports to the Engineering Manager and will work closely with both external and internal stakeholders ensuring prompt project delivery.

Duties:
Reporting to the Project Manager and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment to drive progress to meet project deliverables.
Delivery of mechanical discipline components from design to commissioning on remote mineral project sites for both greenfield or brownfield type projects.
Technical input into feasibility studies for basic or detailed engineering as well as cost estimation for either EPCM or EPC projects.
Setting up and management of project controls for projects.
Preparing documentation including scope of works, design criteria, specifications, bid preparation / tenders, commercial and technical tender evaluations and contract documentation for equipment supply and construction packages.
Assist in the preparation of specific construction compliance documentation including quality controls, safety and environmental, and method statements as required.
Liaise with the client on commercial or contractual obligations; update project status and implement measures to ensure specific project targets are met.
Liaise with design engineers and contractors to ensure projects are completed successfully within budget, time and quality parameters.
Participate in design and drawing reviews. Update and suitably amend drawings from comments made in reviews.
Responsible for the execution time of own work. Participates in schedule updates.
Follow internal policies, standards, systems and procedures for the engineering department.

Minimum Requirements:
Engineering degree with professional designation (PEO or equivalent).
10 years of experience in the mineral processing, metals or mining industries
Practical site experience and exposure to construction, commissioning and back drafting is highly desirable.
Collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Excellent work habits and housekeeping.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
A keen curiosity and passion for learning.
