ABOUT THE POSITION
This position provides administrative support and customer service in the Office of Admissions at Normandale Community College. Data entry performance sufficient to accurately and quickly input information from applications/ forms in a student record database and create and maintain records in customer relations software. This person will assist customers in locating and obtaining services, which may result in moving prospective students through the enrollment funnel. The enrollment funnel includes prospect generation, inquiry management, application development and admission to enrollment. This position will also provide clerical support to the Director of Admissions, Admissions Office Manager and general support in carrying out the functions of the Admissions Office. The primary objective of the Office of Admissions is to meet or exceed FYE enrollment goals as established by the administration.

NOTE: This position will be working partially from a remote environment through the fall semester, so an internet connection is required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of complex databases and technical skills sufficient to effectively input student information into databases and customer relationship software to create records, maintain documentation and record details of customer contact activity
- Ability to work in an online setting to provide excellent customer service while working remotely
- Experience and knowledge of customer service (by phone, in person) practices using interpersonal/human relation skills to provide information in a tactful, respectful manner
- Knowledge and skills in data entry sufficient to accurately input information from applications forms in a student record database and create and maintain records in customer relations software
- Skill in word processing sufficient to use software, such as Microsoft Word and/or Microsoft Outlook to type and format letters, memos, reports, and minutes of meetings.
- Knowledge and experience with spreadsheets sufficient to record data to track activity and provide reports; create and maintain, mailing lists and other data sources for mail merge purposes
- Detail oriented, extremely accurate and the ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge and experience answering high volume of inbound calls and experience routing appropriately
- Knowledge and experience conveying complicated information in an understandable manner as an expert resource.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of recent (within the last two years) experience providing direct customer service in a college or university setting. This position requires extensive day to day contact with students and the general public and the individual must have the ability to interpret, understand and explain policies and procedures. This individual must also have the ability to articulate and respond to the unique needs of students
- Effective problem solving, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills, Outstanding organization skills and attention to detail
- Two or more years of recent (within the last two years) data entry performance within a college or university setting. The individual must have the ability and desire to learn complex computer programs and applications
- Requires working in a periodic time of high stress, high pressure situations. This individual must possess a commitment to customer service and to serving as a team player to work cooperatively with co-workers, staff and students
- Process improvement skills
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience using institutional software such as ISRS (Integrated Student Records System), Image Now, Gold Mine (Admit Gold)
- Competence in the use of various software applications such as Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Power Point)
- Familiarity and understanding of MnSCU policies and procedures
- Individual should have the ability to interpret, understand and explain policies and procedures within a college or university setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with diverse cultures and populations
- Knowledge of and experience working with stated and federal data privacy regulations
- Fluent in a second languages: Spanish, Russian and Somali
