Aging and People with Disabilities (APD), part of the Oregon Department of Human Services , is currently looking for one full-time, permanent dedicated and compassionate individual to provide services as an Office Specialist 2 in our Oregon City office.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
In this position, you will provide assistance to individuals and families seeking services by providing specialized assistance on behalf of program staff. This position helps to guide customers of Aging and People with Disabilities through the sharing of rules, policies, procedures and programs by performing customer service at our front desk in collaboration with other branch staff. This position is responsible to make decisions regarding requests for information from the public. Decisions could include being referred to the community for resources or making appointments with the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) for services.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works primarily the front desk in a general office environment. May come into contact with upset, and/or difficult people. May require some overtime work before and after scheduled work hours and on weekends. Some travel to attend training or meetings. A valid driver’s license is required.
COVID WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is an essential position with ODHS. The individual in this role will be required to work full-time in the office setting. The position interacts with the public on a daily basis and will have to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
An Associate’s degree; OR
Graduation from a private school of business with a certificate AND one year of general clerical experience.
THE MOST COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Experience with repetitive data entry
Experience creating spreadsheets, tables, logs, Power Point and graphs
Face-to-face customer service experience in an office setting
Experience communicating decision, rules and/or policy to customers
