Our team is seeking a Part-Time Tasting Room Host! As Host, you will be responsible for creating the crucial first impression with Landmark’s guests. You will assist the Wine Guides in all ways possible to create a seamless flow of traffic and an amazing guest experience. The successful candidate will have a passion for wine and for creating memorable experiences for guests while able to direct traffic in a busy tasting room setting.
A Day in the Life at Landmark:
Greet and assist guests to help achieve financial goals including Tasting Room sales, merchandise and food sales, tour program signups, and Wine Society signups
Create and execute engaging, educational, and memorable positive guest experiences
Perform monitoring and stocking duties as assigned
Be timely and punctual with regards to scheduling requirements
Give tours and help other departments as needed
Assist in the development of a 50,000 non-club member list for marketing purposes
Develop innovative ideas to market to potential customers and gather email addresses
Maintain clean and tidy work areas, including:
Tasting Room – must be clear of unnecessary POS and flyers and sanitized regularly
Tasting Room Office – must be clear and available for employees to use as necessary
Garage – ensure back stock of shopping bags, merchandise, and POS is organized and easy to locate
Warehouse – organize wine pallets and coordinate with team to ensure inventory if accessible and neat
Resolve guest concerns/complaints using good judgment and tact, and elevate complaints to management when necessary
Attend tasting room monthly meeting and shorter weekly meetings
Attend local tasting events as directed by the Tasting Room Manager (no long distance travel required)
Collaborate with the Wine Society and Hospitality departments on outreach efforts
Facilitate good communication between all departments (Hospitality, Marketing, Wine Society, Accounting, Production, etc.)
Help with washing and polishing glasses, creating cheese plates, and event setup and breakdown
Your Contribution to Landmark:
COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption
High School Diploma or GED
Two years’ retail sales preferred
Proven success working with others and ability to relate to people at all levels
Possess a passion for wine and the wine industry
Communicate verbally and in writing in English
Ability to perform basic calculations
Proven success in applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Strong problem-solving skills involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Quality management – look for ways to improve and promote quality
Judgment – display willingness to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, and make timely decisions
Planning/organizing – prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans
Safety and security – observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly
