Job Summary
Processes monographs in Slavic and East European languages. Includes evaluation of Library of Congress and/or Program for Cooperative Cataloging bibliographic records and authority records.
In OCLC, verifies that headings on the bibliographic record match the corresponding authority record.
Adds Cyrillic parallel fields for items in languages that use that script, when needed.
Updates the national bibliographic record when enhancements are made.
Downloads and replaces the bibliographic record in IUCAT.
Verifies that IUCAT has all needed authority records related to the bibliographic record.
Verifies that the call number is unique in IUCAT and that it matches the literary call number for authors, when appropriate.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
SKILLS
Required
Good working knowledge of Russian language.
Preferred
Knowledge of additional Slavic or East European language(s).
Library and/or cataloging experience.
Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to move books from high and low shelves and push book truck. Ability to remain stationary at a computer for most of the work time.

Work Hours
Standard work time each week will be 12-15 hours per week, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
