Job Title: Program Coordinator
Hours: Mon – Thurs. 36hrs/wk
Location: Clark County
Pay Range: $15.95 – $20.00/hr
General Summary
Coordinate the Safe Homes for Seniors Program to provide home repair and maintenance services to older adults in Clark County. Establish and maintain volunteer relationships, business partnerships and resources for this program. Collaborate on developing and implementing this program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Oversee the program to ensure minor but important household repairs to increase safety, security and quality of life are planned, completed and tracked
• Assess client’s unmet needs, existing support and resources to develop an individual service plan
• Identify, vet and train volunteers who have skills in basic household repairs and/or yard maintenance, and pair them with homebound seniors who have repair/maintenance needs Match clients with volunteers who also share commonalities such as language spoken, veteran status, background and/or expressed interests to further address social isolation

• Purchase home repair and yard maintenance supplies, materials and equipment
• Ensure all program tools, equipment, supplies and inventories are properly maintained and secured.
• Maintain accurate and orderly record of supplies and tools checked-out by volunteers
• Facilitate evaluation and assessment activities for program improvement
• Ensure integrity of data in participant data management system; update participant information as needed and correct inaccurate information as necessary; provide program reports as needed
• Collaborate with current community partners and establish new partnerships within Clark County
• Complete isolation and satisfaction surveys for all program participants
• Communicate with center staff on clients’ needs and repair projects
• Assist in reducing barriers to service
• Complete all required administrative tasks as assigned
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings
• Other duties as assigned

Education & Knowledge

• High School diploma or equivalent job qualifications
• Knowledge of carpentry, painting and basic household repairs
• Knowledge of senior services and resources preferred

Skills, Abilities & Experience

• Bilingual/Bicultural: English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Asian or African languages preferred
• Previous experience with basic maintenance tasks
• Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment
• Attention to detail and good recordkeeping and organizational skills
• Proficient in computer applications and MS Office
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Ability to be flexible as new tasks arise
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
• Ability to quickly learn new computer programs; experience with client management systems a plus

• Ability to communicate with diverse populations

Any satisfactory combination of experience, training and/or education which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above qualifications.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

• Fast paced, with significant people interaction
• Frequent use of power tools for basic home repair projects
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders to complete projects
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and personal transportation required
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and 20lbs repetitively
• Frequent Travel throughout Clark County required
• Candidate must successfully pass the Meals on Wheels People pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
