Job Overview: The Resettlement Caseworker Assistant will assist case workers in the provision of reception and placement services and in completing documentation for newly arrived refugee families in accordance with the Refugee Resettlement Cooperative Agreement.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide airport reception and transport to accommodations. Ensure that the refugee has full understanding of the use of all household appliances and safety procedures.
- Assist casework staff with airport reception
- Assist in orienting clients to their new environment (may include the home, education, healthcare, public benefits, etc.)
- Assist in the completion of public benefits and other applications and completion of core services
- Attend team and office meetings, participate in collective team and office efforts, comply with all IRC and local office policies and practices
- Other duties as assigned

Position Reports to: Casework Supervisor
Indirect Reporting: Resettlement Manager
Other Internal and/or external contacts:
Internal: IRC employees, interns and volunteers
External: Community Partners
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience
- English proficiency, both spoken and written, and professional proficiency in relevant languages (i.e., Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Dari, Pashto, Tigrinya, Arabic, Ukrainian, Russian) preferred
- Ability to document client interactions and services provided and maintain updated and accurate documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and solid keyboarding skills
- Effective time management skills and ability to focus and work productively in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in a multi-cultural environment
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with current insurance and ability to travel regularly throughout the service deliver area

Working Environment:
- Standard, professional office environment (currently remote)
- May require occasional weekend and /or evening work
