We are seeking a Full-Time Russian <> English Translator/Editor for our Clear Lake (Houston), Texas office. Translator will perform a variety of technical language support.

Responsibilities:
Translate complex texts from Russian into English and English into Russian. These texts may contain difficult, idiomatic, scientific, and colloquial writing.

Accurately capture cultural subtleties, nuance, and emphasis. A level of cultural mastery is required for the translator to capture socio-cultural essentials embedded in text to include political, religious, historic, and ethnic elements.

Requirements:
Must be able to translate at an ILR level 4+ (Advanced Professional Performance Plus) level.

Must have a MA in linguistics or related experience.

Must be proficient in translating technical subjects in the fields of aeronautics, engineering, education, psychology, training, technology, WMD, materials science, physics, etc.

Must be proficient in the operation of electronic equipment necessary to conduct translation.

Must be able to demonstrate professionalism in a demanding, high stress and fast-paced environment.

Due to Government contract requirements candidate must currently reside in the United States and be a US Citizen.

Language Testing Requirements:
All qualified candidates will be required to take and pass a language test administered by TechTrans International. If a candidate does not pass the language test, (s)he will not be eligible for this position.
