Description
On behalf of Ciklum Digital, Ciklum is looking for a SAP/ABAP Developer to join the team on a full-time basis.
As a SAP ABAP Developer you will respond to Business and Technical requirements to resolve issues, improve and extend the functionality of the core finance solution. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying solution changes required to resolve issues and develop solution including ABAP developments and enhancements on the core SAP solution.
Our Client is implementing SAP across the Business with the UK & Ireland currently live and its Central European Business (Germany Austria, Switzerland and Poland) going live in 2017. Further rollouts of the single system across additional territories are planned over the coming years. This is an exciting time to join the Team with a wide remit, multiple projects and new functionality constantly required by the business departments.
Responsibilities
As a SAP ABAP Developer you will
- Understand user and process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables within the SAP landscape
- Design, code and correct large and/or complex programs and program modifications as custom development, or within an existing application
- Understand which requirements can be achieved through customizing, system development or enhancements
- Define test cases and run unit tests on developed, or modified system changes
- Create, change or enhance technical specifications for newly created or modified developments
- Provide input and guidance on development and architecture decisions
- Collaborate with other developers and designers
- Strive for highest quality and knowledge of how to use all relevant tools to verify the quality (e.g. Code Inspector, Performance Trace, SQL Trace)
- Conduct peer reviews to verify that peers have followed the common standards and selected the most viable and efficient approach to solve the given requirements
- Assist with designing, building, testing, tuning and implementing highly available integration solutions / services and SAP infrastructure components
- Create proper documentation to ensure seamless deployments and easy support for system developments or changes
- Understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluates the impact of changes or additions
- Work together with Solution Architect and Technical Architect to stabilize and improve overall system quality
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in development and enhancing SAP ERP solutions
- Have an in-depth understanding of SAP development environment , enhancements and interface technologies
- Experiences in SAP solutions R2R, O2C and P2P with focus on modules FI, CO, SD, MM (Purchasing) with a functional understanding of one or more
- General understanding of finance and accounting with an understanding on the accounts payable and receivable processes
- Deep understanding and experience with ABAP language and SAP development tools (SAP development certification preferred)
- Familiarity with interface technologies within an SAP environment and comfortable in identifying potential improvements as well as enhancing these solution
- Experience in procedural and object orientated development methods in SAP
- Experiences in at least one of the following form technologies: SAPSCRIPT, SMARTFORMS, Adobe Forms
- Experience in BADI / User Exit Developments and UI developments
- Experiences in other NW products (e.g. SRM, CRM, Portal) preferred
- Familiarity with support processes, methodologies (ITIL)
- Problem analysis and solving abilities
- Ability to work on multiple topics simultaneously, meet deadlines, and properly escalate issues for a timely resolution
- Self-motivated team player that thrives in a collaborative and competitive environment
