The EU-funded Support to Justice-Related Reforms “Pravo-Justice” project seeks two project interpreters to provide simultaneous interpretation for project events as well as translation services.
Two interpreters will be engaged through fixed-term contracts of 21 months. The Interpreters will:
Provide simultaneous interpretation at project events from English to Ukrainian and/or Russian, Russian and/or Ukrainian to English, and if needed, Russian to Ukrainian and Ukrainian to Russian.
Translate project financial and administrative documents, as well as major Project outputs (same languages as above)
Ensure the coverage of interpretation services at all project events, coordinating with and engaging external services if needed.
The Support to Justice Sector Reforms and Digitalization in Ukraine (Pravo-Justice) project, implemented by Expertise France (EF) with funding from the European Union, accompanies Ukrainian authorities in the process of comprehensive justice sector reform, in line with the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and European standards and comparative best practices. Since 2017, the Project has supported an ambitious sectoral reform agenda, which includes justice sector policy development, steering and coordination (Component 1), judiciary reform (Component 2), property rights protection, private legal professions development and reform of penitentiary and probation systems (Component 3), and digitization and digitalization of justice-related business processes (Component 4).
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a foreign langue, social sciences, humanities, law or other relevant field of study;
At least five years of experience providing translation and interpretation services in a fast paced environment and at high level events;
Strong legal vocabulary would be considered a major asset;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
High degree of organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask;
Fluency in written and spoken English and Ukrainian.
