Job Description:
The Department of English at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a tenure-earning assistant professor position in Creative Writing (Fiction). The anticipated start date is August 2022.
The selected candidate will be expected to teach courses in the B.A. and MFA in creative writing programs; engage in research/creative activities and professional activities appropriate for tenure-track faculty; participate in advising and recruitment; and direct theses and serve on thesis committees for the MFA Creative Writing program. The individual will teach face-to-face and online classes. Teaching responsibilities include a 2/3 course load.

Minimum Qualifications:
Terminal degree in Creative Writing, English, or other English-related field from an accredited institution by time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong record of publication in fiction with secondary interest or experience in screenwriting and/or editing and publishing; successful experience teaching creative writing at the college level; commitment to both the undergraduate creative writing major and the MFA program.
