Position Overview
Cascadia Consulting Group is seeking a highly motivated and organized Project Coordinator or Associate
to support our Communications and Engagement (C+E) and Planning and Facilitation (P+F) lines of
business. This role will focus on providing outreach, engagement, and communications for a range of
sustainability projects, including transportation, green infrastructure, climate action, and resiliency. This
role will support clients, including local governments, utilities, and private companies. This role could
include national travel when permissible. Cascadia seeks candidates willing to be inquisitive and

Examples of everyday tasks may include:
- Conduct equitable and inclusive public engagement around such topics as transportation, green
infrastructure, climate, and other sustainability issues.
- Engage with diverse audiences including businesses, property managers, and residents on
environmental topics using varied outreach methods, including phone calls, presentations at
neighborhood events, door-to-door outreach (in compliance with local health and safety
guidelines), meetings with community liaisons, and marketing via the web and social media.
- Schedule and coordinate outreach activities, including meetings with clients and community
members, via phone and email.
- Create written and visual content for outreach materials, in collaboration with Cascadia’s
graphics team, including factsheets, emails, website content, social media posts, memos,
reports, and other project-related documents.
- Organize, plan, and support meetings, events, or presentations, including creating agendas or
promotional materials, coordinating speakers, organizing logistics, taking notes, and keeping to
a detailed timeline.
- Document engagement activities via electronic data entry, both in-field and in-office, using
project communications databases. Occasionally conduct qualitative and quantitative data
synthesis of results.
- Support and/or lead project and team management duties, including scoping, developing and
monitoring budgets, planning, supporting partners, delegating tasks, overseeing project teams,
managing subcontractors, reporting, and invoicing.
Required Qualifications

- Commitment to thinking critically about your own cultural lens and being able to communicate

- Experience organizing and planning events in either a professional or community-based setting
(e.g., organizing community events for religious groups, student clubs/government in high
schools or colleges, as a volunteer, etc.)
- Experience providing facilitation support for public meetings, working groups, or other
stakeholder processes, including notetaking.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to diverse styles and
perspectives.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and simply to be easily understood for a
wide range of audiences.
- The ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines, with an attention to detail in a dynamic
work environment.
- Commitment to working both in teams and independently to advance common goals, think
creatively, use sound judgement to resolve issues, and create high-quality work products.
- Prior experience with, and passion for, outreach and engagement.
- Basic to intermediate experience—and a willingness to expand skills—in producing documents
for an employer with Microsoft Office 365 programs, such as SharePoint, Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint, or with Adobe products or the Google G Suite.
- Ability to work outdoors, including in inclement weather.
Other highly desirable attributes include:
- Experience with transportation, green infrastructure, climate, or other sustainability-related
projects or programs.
- Experience working with or for local governments, such as transit and transportation agencies,
public works departments, or sustainability agencies.
- Ability to converse, present, and/or write fluently in any languages commonly spoken in the
Seattle area—such as Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Thai,
Amharic, Arabic, Somali, Oromo, Tigrinya, Punjabi, or Russian—and interest in applying these
language skills professionally.
- Experience managing projects or performing project management-related duties; project
management consulting experience is preferred.
- Ability to stand or walk on uneven surfaces for up to 10 hours per day.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position based in Seattle, WA. Hourly rates are based on
experience and are competitive with jobs in the environmental sector; the anticipated hourly rate range
for this position is $24-$34/hour.
The work may require flexible hours (including hours beyond the standard workday, such as weekends
