The Field Support Manager plans and coordinates the maintenance of this equipment and monitoring of assembly, commissioning as well as inspections and troubleshooting of the RSS fleet internally and to customers worldwide. In coordination with customers, NOV sales teams and NOV maintenance centers, he/she coordinates the transport of RSS tools and spare parts as well as the worldwide deployment of maintenance specialists. The Field Support Manager must be familiar with the entire downhole tool and be aware of the interaction of the mechanical, hydraulic and electronic components. He/She needs to be able to understand the software and hardware capabilities and understand their background to ensure answering to customer requests or to refine reports from the operations team. During the execution of the work the aspect of the QHSE always has the highest priority.
For direct contact with the customer, it is not only necessary to know the technical toolbox, but also to be customer-friendly both internally and externally. The Field Support Manager must be able and willing to travel at short notice and over a longer but manageable time frame. Communication is the key; therefore very good command of spoken and written English is indispensable.
The Field Support Manager will have to manage the team’s schedule which includes a firm understanding of travel and security policies, the ability to shift priorities between jobs and to understand and mitigate the urgency of a request from NOV operations teams or customers.
The Field Support Manager is also responsible to distribute operations manuals and upgrades as well as updates to the current fleet to the customers and therefor needs to keep track of the active and inactive assets in the fleet. Asset-management and R&M management is a big part of the Field Support role. Therefore, a certain familiarity with shipping processes, deadlines and the understanding for material and personal needs for certain requests is critical to this role.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads Training teams or provides supervision and training for the directional drilling operation at the wellsite himself that ensures the proper operation of downhole tools.
Responsible for the team to handle, operate the BHA properly and for them to train and supervise the customers while maintaining proper documentation
Has to be ahead of his team and will need to add his knowledge to questions asked from the field
May assist in the marketing, sales, and promotion of company products as a technical advisor
Has to base decisions on both customer demands and technical capabilities with an eye on the contract and on operational capabilities of both the application and the downhole tools
Maintains equipment records of equipment at well site.
Responsible for all communication from well site with internal personnel and customer representatives on location.
Take rotations in office to coordinate.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Attending mandatory safety meetings and maintaining Company property and equipment in safe operating conditions at all times.

Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Desired)
Experience in in oil and gas operations and working on rigs and oilfield installations in an Upstream environment (Essential)
Prior Directional Drilling, MWD, or logging experience (Desirable)
Experience in leading and developing a team
Working knowledge of MS-Office programs (MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Project) is essential
Knowledge in standard EPM-Software (e.g. Oracle JD Edwards) is essential
Technical and business English language both spoken and written (fluent) is essential
Secondary Language (Spanish, Russian, Arabic Chinese…) is desirable
Experience with downhole tools and Rig operation (Desirabe)
Experience in Directional Software (Hawkeye, Landmark, Winsurv…) is desirable
