The Department of Geospatial Information Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for a part-time Lecturer in Geography, with a specialization in Russian Geography. The successful candidate will be demonstrably committed to outstanding teaching at the undergraduate level. The candidate will teach a class on Russia: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. The class is an introduction to Russian geography, economics, politics, history, culture, and Russian-American relations. It explores characteristics of Russian society and its evolution and investigates the rise of Russia to prominence, the Soviet legacy in present economic and social policies, and Russia’s place in the global order.
A Ph.D. or a master’s degree in Geography or closely related field at the time of appointment is preferred.
