WorkFirst Reporting Coordinator

Renton Technical College is looking to hire a WorkFirst Reporting Coordinator. This is a full-time, classified and overtime eligible position is part of the Workforce and Economic Development department and reports directly to the Executive Director of Workforce & Grants. This position works independently to ensure that the attendance and progress of WorkFirst students is documented, verified and reported in compliance with state and federal regulations, and to assist with special projects in support of WorkFirst students and program outreach. Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Include

Demonstrate multicultural competence (including an awareness and understanding of historically minoritized populations) and create an educational and work environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Manage documentation and verification process for participation and progress of RTC WorkFirst students.

Report attendance and progress of students each month using the Employment Security /DSHS online database (EJAS).

Initiate and implement modifications in procedure as needed to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and policy. Train RTC staff as necessary in reporting procedures.

Initiate “Immediate Notification” messaging on EJAS to alert DSHS when students have excessive absences or fail to document attendance in a timely way, and notify WorkFirst Coordinators of need for intervention.

Communicate with instructors, WorkFirst coordinators and students to ensure that attendance is reported correctly and in a timely manner to DSHS.

Communicate regularly as needed with local DSHS staff to ensure that the RTC WorkFirst referral list in EJAS is current and correct.

Coordinate RTC responses to DSHS Quality Assurance reviews by drafting responses, assembling documentation and representing the college before the Participation Review Committee.

Manage Canvas Workforce Education Meeting Space for WorkFirst Attendance Reporting.

Communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with college employees, departments and outside agencies.

Create and update monthly, quarterly and annual reports of program activities and performance.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated experience in working with and supporting persons from diverse backgrounds such as sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, socio-economic, physical and learning abilities, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working / learning environment.

Associates Degree, Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Two years of experience demonstrating your ability to:
implement projects in complex systems,

understand and comply with government or organizational policies and regulations,

work and communicate well with diverse populations, students, staff, and community members.

Previous experience with the Washington State WorkFirst program and the EJAS system preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, and oral and written communications skills.

Ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to meet deadlines.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, think critically and exercise independent judgment.

Ability to work effectively and engage with individuals whose first language is not English.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office, specifically experience creating & editing documents, spreadsheets and presentations. Previous success learning new computer software programs/platforms required.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Demonstrated ability to promote universal design and accessibility. Proficiency in (or ability to learn within 6 month of hire) the production of accessibly content, whether print or electronic.

Demonstrated attention to detail required as well as previous experience maintaining accurate records, managing multiple tasks, and planning and organizing work in order to meet changing priorities and deadlines.

Previous experience providing services to students in a college setting preferred.

Ability to represent the college in a positive and professional manner, while using tact, discretion and courtesy.

Ability to speak a regionally top spoken language other than English is preferred (Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Somali, and Chinese).
