Test and Trace Canvasser

Meridian Strategies is hiring Canvassers to support New York City’s Test and Trace Program to increase awareness and use of NYC’s rapid testing sites in communities around the city.

Job Description*
Employees will canvass individually and as part of teams to talk with residents of designated neighborhoods about getting tested and vaccinated for COVID-19 and best practices for staying safe during the pandemic.
Successful applicants will be engaging, positive, and outgoing individuals who are goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to think on their feet.
Employees will canvass six hour shifts up to 40 hours per week. Shifts available seven days a week, at scheduled times throughout the day.

Campaign Associates will: *

• Knock door-to-door, street canvass, and staff community events as needed
• Work individually and in teams to achieve personal and team goals
• Promote city testing sites and collect testing information from residents
• Answer questions regarding the Test and Trace Program
• Meet reporting requirements and accountability guidelines
• Hand out PPE and flyers

Qualifications:
The following experience and qualifications will lead to success:

• Previous paid canvass experience
• Telemarketing or retail marketing experience
• Social service or organizing experience
• Speakers of a second language, especially Mandarin, Spanish, Yiddish, Russian, Punjabi, Bangla, and Kreyol are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements:
Campaign Associates must be able to:

• Speak English
• Received at least one dose of the Moderna or Pfizer COVID19 vaccine OR one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine*
• Use phone to track and submit data and to sign up for shifts
• Perform data entry and reporting functions
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Work outdoors, on foot, walking, for up to six hours a day, a minimum of 4 shifts per week
• Travel to site locations across the city

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
